One of my favourite things at the moment is quinoa! If you don’t know what that is, it is a grain-like seed that is full of protein so it is also great for vegetarians!

It is very diverse which means you can have it for breakfast, lunch or dinner (or maybe even dessert) AND it’s good for you! (as it is full of protein it does come with a few extra calories than chicken or other lean meats but they are definitely worth it) Plus it is pretty simple and quick to cook too which is why I love making it after a run or a long day to refuel, without having to wait hours for some decent grub!! (what more could you want?!)

Recently I have been mixing it with chicken and tomato and adding it to wraps (what can I say, I am in training and need the protein! – definitely trying to justify it! it’s just so tasty!) If you are also a wrap fan like me, here are 16 Wrap Filling Ideas to keep you going!

Back to what I was saying! – The only downside is that quinoa can get boring because on it’s own it is quite bland, so I decided to do a roundup of some great recipe’s that inspire me to mix it up a little and make things more interesting so I don’t get tired of it! (did I mention it was packed full of protein!?) this is something you want to keep around.

So without further ado here they are…

  1. I have to say that quinoa burgers are my all time favorite. I’ve always wanted to make quinoa stuffed peppers though. And my mouth is just drooling everywhere looking at that broccoli and grain salad. Yummy!

  2. I know what it is, but don’t really ever use it. I should really incorporate it into my diet, thanks for the great recipes, and tasty wrap selections Xxx

  3. I love Quinoa, all these quinoa dishes are awesome, difficult to decide which one is best. I am going to try some, because quinoa is very healthy.

  4. Nice round up of recipes. I have a hard time with quinoa – saying it and cooking it! I never feel it is cooked properly when you can still see the little white bits…if you know what I mean :/

  5. Some great recipes here, I haven’t tried cooking this myself before but will have to give it a shot with some of these fab ideas! Thanks for sharing!

  6. I have confession to make that we have never actually tried Quinoa here! I think some anxiety over how to pronounce it doesn’t help 😉 This is a great inspiration for some ways we could introduce it though so may give it a try!

  7. I’ve never eaten, or touched, Quinoa. My hubby is a major fusspot eater and likes his meat and 2 veg!
Maybe I’ll give it a go. I also like the look of the turkey sausage one…I do love a good sausage (I can’t say that without laughing ) x
