Oh My Blog is a monthly interview series, where fellow bloggers come together to answer a series of questions on a specific theme. This is a chance to get acquainted with a whole range of bloggers, some of whom you may not have heard of before, and learn a little more about them!
In case you missed it, here’s Kimberly from February’s post on LOVE
If you want to meet and learn about MY mother then check out my March mums post on Neon Rainbow Blog
My lovely mum is called Lyn (with a ‘y’ and one ‘n’ controversially!) She is self employed and has always been an inspiration to me for being a business woman as well as juggling three children. I will say she is in her 50s… I don’t dare say an exact age!
You know how when you’re young you think your parents are so annoying, then you become a mum and you become just as annoying to your children. Well the thing my mum always used to say was in reply to me saying “Mum, I’m bored.” She would always reply “I’m Mum, how do you do!” I now say this to Lily!
Probably someone like Emma Thompson. I think there’s something so warm about her, and very intelligent. I’d say they are two perfect words to describe my mum.
An amazing holiday somewhere luxurious, and she would take all of us with her!
Probably the one where I managed to insult an elderly woman in the CO-OP when I was about 3, by asking my mum “Why does that lady have a beard?” very loudly, pointing at her whiskers!
It’s been a tough year or so for my mum, so I want to treat her this Mother’s Day with more than just a bunch of flowers. I think I will book up somewhere for lunch or afternoon tea.
She’s started liking those police shows, like Traffic Cops! No idea why! She is my junk TV ally as well, and loves a bit of X Factor and I’m A Celebrity when they’re on.
Whenever I have needed to make any choices in life my mum has given me one piece of advice: Do what feels right. In this way she has always inspired me to follow my heart. I’m glad I have as there have been some risky decisions, but they have paid off.
My mum doesn’t drink so for her it’s likely to just be a diet coke!
I’m a very girly girl, my mum is more into sport. I may never go to watch a football match with her, but she always still takes an interest in my more girly likes and hobbies. We are very different in some ways, but very similar in others.
I know some people talk to their mums about sex and there’s no boundaries, but me and my mum definitely have boundaries! As far as she’s concerned I am a total virgin… except that one time that me and my hubby made Lily!
When I graduated from university. My mum, dad and older brother all came up to watch me graduate. My dad and brother then headed home but my mum and me stayed in a Premiere Inn and had a girls night. We went to dinner, got back to the hotel and watched some TV and had a chat before getting an early night. It was just really nice to spend some quality time together.
A bit of a rebel! I know that she was a bit naughty at school and still has a wicked sense of humour. I think it got her into trouble sometimes as a kid, not that she cared too much!
Boys. Both my parents despaired at me when it came to my choice of boyfriends as a teenager. I’ve got to say looking back I did gravitate towards the boys who were a parents worst nightmare. They couldn’t tell me though, eventually I worked it out for myself. They were actually very patient with me, I don’t know if I would be so good if Lily bought a boy home like I did.
When having an argument with a partner, if the thing that you are arguing about isn’t going to be important in a week’s time, or even a month’s time- is it really worth the argument? She doesn’t mean this in a “be a pushover” way. But more she knows that I can be quick to snap at my husband, and not to constantly pick fights that aren’t needed.
