The husband and I have been on the smoothie kick, he has been my willing guinea pig and now we have settled into a bit of a routine with these smoothie recipes!

a week of smoothiesI experiment with a new recipe, pop it in the freezer overnight and then first thing in the morning my husband takes it with him to work. It is actually working pretty well because it stays partly frozen in his bag for half the day keeping his lunch (and cookies and snacks he doesn’t know I know about) cool so they don’t melt while also meaning that he can have a healthy and refreshing snack in the afternoon or on the way home when he needs it most.

This inspired me to do a little post on these mini recipes because they are incredibly simple to make and I am now safe in the knowledge that he is having some healthy nutrition in between chocolate to fuel him at work!

For each of these recipes, add the ingredients to a blender and mix on a high setting until completely blended! Easy, peasy.

So here are the last 5 days of smoothies that he has really enjoyed…

2 Chopped Mangoes

1 1/2 Banana

You may have noticed a lot of banana and mango in these recipes, that is because they are not only nutritious and delicious, they act as a thickening agent for the smoothie without having to add anything else. They are also frugal to buy and freeze which means it doesn’t cost much per serving!

  1. Beside strawberry, Blueberry is one of the healthiest foods I really love. And they require no pitting or peeling. I usually combine it with strawberry in a beautiful smoothie. It is so great. That is called strawberry blueberry smoothie. I added just a touch of vanilla extract for a wee bit of sweetness and used regular milk and found the smoothie very light and refreshing! Thanks for sharing delicious dishes!

  2. Thank you for sharing these recipes. I have been opting for smoothie in my attempt to lose some weight. These recipes will come really handy.

  3. I am a huge smoothie fan, mainly because I am not great at eating breakfast. I must try the kiwi one, that sounds lovely and refreshing x

  4. I really like sound of day 4’s smoothie. I am a big mango fan. I notice when I look for new recipes they have a lot of mango or banana in them as well. They are amazing for nutritional value & thickening as you say.

  5. you beauty! I’ve just got a new hand blender with the promise of starting the day off with a smoothie to get more fruit variation into my diet. Pinning this to come back to! (starting off with the mango one, that looks perfect for summer mornings)
