Who doesn’t love a race playlist! Here’s one of my favorites

race track race playlist feature

Music is a real motivator and one that I use frequently to help me during training and racing. It is something that helps me to stay focused and not think about the harsh breathing or pain in my legs! I generally change my music for almost every event that I do because I get bored, but this playlist saw me through an entire 10k series over the summer season. I have included the BPM (beats per minute) in case this is helpful for you, I find it indicates whether the song suits your type of running.

If you want to learn more about the BPM,  check out my post: “The Pro’s & Cons of Running With Music.” which goes a bit more in depth as to what you can benefit from when running with music (and whether you actually should.)

  1. Eminem – Lose yourself – 179 BPM
  2. Bruno Mars – It will rain – 152 BPM
  3. Jessie J – It’s My Party – 130 BPM
  4. Ellie Goulding – Starry Eyed – 151 BPM
  5. Florence + the machine – Dog days are over – 151 BPM
  6. Rascal Flatts – Me and my gang – 109 BPM
  7. Paramore – Misery Business – 169 BPM
  8. Panic! At The Disco – I write sins not tragedies – 170 BPM
  9. The Zutons – Valarie – 168 BPM
  10. Kate Nash – Foundations – 90 BPM
  11. Kevin Lyttle – Turn me on – 120 BPM
  12. EXO – Call me baby – 120 BPM
  13. Jessie J – Sexy Lady – 128 BPM
  14. Foxes – Body Talk – 120 BPM
  15. Avril Lavigne – What the hell – 150 BPM
  16. Savage Garden – Affirmation – 180 BPM
  17. Rascal Flatts – Mayberry – 90 BPM
  18. Rihanna & Calvin Harris – We Found Love – 128 BPM
  19. Katy Perry – Roar – 90 BPM
  20. Maroon 5 – Animals – 180 BPM

You’ll see I have quite eclectic taste so hopefully there is a song on here for everyone. I hope these songs will give you as much motivation as they gave me! If you want to find out the BPM of songs in your playlist, check out Songbpm.com or Jog.fm

  1. Love your list! I am intending to get back to shape after the new year. I have not run 10K before and so this list will come in very handy. I have pinned this – hope you don’t mind. #TheList
