The husband and I have been on the smoothie kick, he has been my willing guinea pig and now we have settled into a bit of a routine with these smoothie recipes!

I experiment with a new recipe, pop it in the freezer overnight and then first thing in the morning my husband takes it with him to work. It is actually working pretty well because it stays partly frozen in his bag for half the day keeping his lunch (and cookies and snacks he doesn’t know I know about) cool so they don’t melt while also meaning that he can have a healthy and refreshing snack in the afternoon or on the way home when he needs it most.

This inspired me to do a little post on these mini recipes because they are incredibly simple to make and I am now safe in the knowledge that he is having some healthy nutrition in between chocolate to fuel him at work!

For each of these recipes, add the ingredients to a blender and mix on a high setting until completely blended! Easy, peasy.

So here are the last 5 days of smoothies that he has really enjoyed…

Day 1 – Raspberry & Banana

Ingredients

*Makes 1 big or 2 small*

1 Banana

1 1/2 handfuls Raspberries

400ml Water

Day 2 – Kiwi, Apple & Pineapple

Ingredients

*Makes 2 large*

2 Kiwi’s (peeled and cut)

1 Banana

250ml Apple Juice

250ml Pineapple Juice

100ml Water

Day 3 – Summer Fruits, Banana & Apple

Ingredients

*Makes 1 large or 2 small*

2 Handfuls of Summer Fruit mixture*

1 Banana

300ml Apple Juice

200ml Water

(*You can make this mixture yourself by combining; 1 Tablespoon Raspberries, 1 Tablespoon Strawberries, 1 Teaspoon Cherries, 1 Teaspoon Blackberries)

Day 4 – Orange, Mango & Raspberry

Ingredients

*Makes 2 Large*

3 Chopped Mangoes

2 Handfuls Raspberries

600ml Orange Juice

*This mixture can be quite thick, so add water to thin it out if necessary*

Day 5 – Mango & Banana

Ingredients

*Makes 1 Large or 2 Small*

2 Chopped Mangoes

1 1/2 Banana

300ml Water

300ml Pineapple Juice

You may have noticed a lot of banana and mango in these recipes, that is because they are not only nutritious and delicious, they act as a thickening agent for the smoothie without having to add anything else. They are also frugal to buy and freeze which means it doesn’t cost much per serving!
